I havent really heard or seen Anyone say much about there stock vss,

My question is, i am running a 5.3l, getting computer flashed to delete a bunch of stucx, but i saw on lt1swap.com that he is saying you need a electric vss pulse to the pcm,
Is this true? Says it can effect fuel mileage, idle issues. Has anyone done this before and is it a must?

Depends on how you have the tune..if you set it up for a standard then it might not matter in a way. There are conversion kits out there.

I'm about to put a TH350 into my car and I have an extra T56 Reluctor layin around, I'm looking into modifying it to work on the Tailhousing with a VSS.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! Why Merv why? Tell me you didnt hurt the T56 again. To the op, most guys run a vss to keep the engine from stalling when you come to a stop and to help the idle. Dakota Digital has a setup thats been used countless of times as well as JagsThatRun.com

I have a Turbo 350 in my Nova swap and im not running a VSS. The car starts, idles and runs fine. Even when coming to a stop.....no issues at all.

get the 40 tooth wheel, sensor and tailhousing from an early to mid 90s 2WD truck that has it.

those 4L60 model tailhousings bolt to a 6" tail Th350 or bolt to a 9" tail w/ a spacer.

Does the same apply to the 700r4?

Depending on the year, some of the 700r4's had tailhousings with vss.

That thought crossed my mind, where did you get the spacer?
