what big cam to use with ac what is the biggest cam could i use with my ac still to work without over heating and changing to much to the engine.it's a 01 ls6,p&p heads,vavles,springs.ported ls6 intake,85mm tb,525/236 cam,upgraded fuel system,headers,xpipe,flowmasters,4l60e auto trans upgraded,3200 yank stall,355 gears,i don't know to much about this.i live in south la. it's very hot here.

In general with proper driveability tuning and taking safety steps like water wetter and messing with the fan temp on/off parameters you can run as big as you like and thats in the MS4/T-rex range.
A properly working cooling system should be fine in almost all heat ranges. When you start boosting a car the under hood temps soar and thats when you need to worry about detonation. N/A I see no issues.

I have an LS3 with a 227/239 629/623 cam. I put almost 1,000 miles on it this weekend with the AC in 90+ weather. It did get a little warm once while sitting idling on hot blacktop with the AC on. No issues otherwise.
