So I blew my cooler line going down the highway
I was ripping it at a stoplight and before too long I noticed I was blowing smoke down the highway. I hit an off ramp and pulled over. Trans fluid started flowing from under the car.
At this point I thought about pooping my pants.
Popped the hood and smoke poured out. ATF was EVERYWHERE. I instantly knew the culprit and checked the cooler. Sure enough one of the lines was completely off the cooler. Phew! this was a big sigh of relief for a second but then I realized I wasn't driving home.
The tow truck guy said he found me by following the fluid trail from the highway.
The rubber lines had been on trouble free for two years. But I never want to have this happen again. Time for some steel braided lines?

I only use Gates Power grip hose clamps. In 10 years I have never had one leak or come loose.

SUM-900106 #6 AN WRENCH 11/16 HEX Ready to Ship $9.95 1 $9.9
Ya so i just did this at summit. My old B&M cooler was the nipple kind. Figured I would go bigger while I was at it. Basically its the NPS/AN adapters out of the trans to 45 degree AN hose ends. Then run the hose's up to the cooler in front of the radiator. AN female hose ends to an adapter that fits in the B&M 1/2 NPT ports.
I could have gone with cheaper stuff....but I never want to have to touch this again!

Plus I can get rid of those stock lines that loop over in front of the crank pulley for whatever reason.
I think I followed your thread to get the right parts. except I did it in -6 AN and I used all aeroquip stuff. Good to know about the NPS trans case and needing a 45 AN hose end out of the trans.
