best brakes for a 17" Rim for the price? What is the best track/street brake kit for the front for a 17' wheel
i have looked at BAER WILLWOOD AND BREMBO
but i only have about 1500 at most to spend so some ones personal experience would be help full

Wilwoods are probably the best bang for the buck.. At least for their SL*R kits.. I have their SL4R kit and it is pretty awesome bit of kit for the money.

C5 or C6 front brakes give you a bigger diameter rotor, which improves braking significantly. Just need the calipers and brackets from the donor car and a set of adapters. Do a search on c5 brake and see what you think. Less than $1K usually.

i agree with the bigger rotor but c5 to ls1 caliper is no difference there clamp pressure/bite is the same i want to move to a minimum 4 piston caliper
do you have a part number that you used for the willwood kit?

On another note there are a few guys that have been using the 2010 Camaro SS calipers and 14" rotors, but 18" wheels.

My kit number is #140-10691
The 13" kit is #140-7190 (technically a 12.88" rotor, but the offers a much better caliper than the 13.06" kit which is #140-9833)

All that being said, I track my car quite frequently and the 12.2" kit is more than sufficient with good pads, both on and off the track.

Im running a the 12.2" setup on my car. It came from a buddy that races in CMC2 and they are limited to nothing larger than a 12.2" rotor.
My kit number is #140-10691
The 13" kit is #140-7190 (technically a 12.88" rotor, but the offers a much better caliper than the 13.06" kit which is #140-9833)
