Dana S60 carnage...
I forget what posi is in it. Broke half way down the track.
But going spool and got some question which one should I get?
Its going to be a steel one for sure but 35 or 40 spline?
Which one is better?
The ring and pinion look fine to me. Also both wheel bearing seals were leaking pretty good.
The damn bolts are coming out.

At your hp level 35 spline axles will do the job, I'd say it depends on whether you plan on adding a lot more power in the future or not. Bob

Well we have these pictures of the broken S60 and in another thread twisted 31 spline axles and broken truetrac in 9" rears.Points out a couple things to me.1st is obviously M6 cars are really hard on rear end parts so plan accordingly. But I think lots of people look at the size of the ring and pinion gear and think they are good but that isn't what is probably going to break. If you don't want to run a spool or locker then you will run a LSD and that differential is the weak point- and/or maybe the axles. If you are going to the track with your M6 better plan on 35 spline axles and a wavetrac if you don't want to run a spool.

At what HP level is the 35 spline no good?
At the time I got the rearend it was just a H/C car and didn't intend on having a 10 sec. car.
Car does have a LPE 2-step on it.
I'm going to run a spool. Just need to know 35 or 40 splines spool and axles.
Thanks for the HELP GUYS............

I read that torque and car weight are the biggest factors in determining axle size but in this case the fact that your stick shift has to be a big factor.I would agree with the people who said 35 spline would work but I'm no expert.I do have a question-will 40 spline axles fit right into a S60?

How's STL going? Haven't heard from ya in a long time. Ryan told me you shattered your Dana. Got me a bit worried with mine but having an auto, I should be ok.
I've got friends in the Carbondale area. I'm planning on trailering the car down there. Still got the same number? I can hit ya up when I do come down and hopefully meet up at the track.

According to the jaw gear they sell the 35 and 40. I think might as well just do the 40 and call it a day.
It's great being back HOME! You race at that 1/8 mile on hwy 57 and exit 70ish?

I've been out there to spectate before and my friend took my car out there when it was stock to race it but I've never been down the track there. I'll probably hit it up but not a fan of the 1/8th. However, it's only a couple miles away from his house so it's more convenient, but I'd love to get out to Gateway and run. About an hour and a half away so not a bad drive. I think they opened a 1/4 mile track in Harrisburg so that's another option, but I'd really like to get to STL to race. I've got your old number but not sure if you changed it so let me know your number and I'll hit ya up when I'm down there.
