Default Jet Size

I am currently running a 100 shot with the recommended jets and it is pig rich. I hooked up a wideband to it and it was reading 9.9 - 10.4 A/F.

What size jet do I need to bring my A/F into the 11.8 range? I also need the correct jet for the 150 and 200 so I can step it up a notch.

BTW, I am running a NO plate kit with a 52N 33F.

I run a 33f with a 62n for a 150 shot. I would step up the nitrous jets slowly while running a wideband. Dont forget to check the plugs!

I only have jets for 50, 100, 150 and 200.

HP..........N.........F
50.........35.......22
100.......52.......33
150.......62.......38
200.......78.......46

What jets should I buy for 100 and 150 on the fuel side to get close to a target of 11.8 A/F.

I can try using the 33F on the 62N(150 shot) but I would like to work my way to it to be safe. Don't want to go lean on the first hit. I can try adding fuel to my tune and use that jet then pull fuel back slowly.

You need to call up Nitrous Outlet and get some more jets so you can work your way up slowly.

Or pop in the 150 jets and see where you are at. Most likely it will be a little on the rich side and you will have lean it out a little. Then you can take out the 38f jet and put in the 33f jet.

Yeh, I called them and they said to run a 28F for the 100, the 33F for the 150 and 42F(and work my way down) on the 200.

I just did not want t go buying a bunch of jets I can't use.

Jets are cheaper than a motor! I easily have well over $500 if not closer to a $1,000 in jets...but I have had more nitrous cars than the average person.

Yes, the jets are cheaper than an engine but it makes no sense to buy all jet sizes if others have been down this road and can narrow the search down a little.

Based on what NO and others have said I will buy what they recommended plus one step higher and lower to be certain.

Why are you looking for a set a/f?

FWIW I ran a 53n 28f in my nitrous outlet plate and the wideband read 12.8-13:1 but the plug still had just a real faint fuel ring on it. Wasn't near as clean as my .073 jet tune that didn't use a much bigger fuel jet

I like to get up to a set A/F before I start pulling plugs because it would be a waste to pull a plug after a 10.0 A/F.

Yeh, I know you like a 12.8-13:1 like Phantom. You helped me with my brothers 2010 Camaro to get it into the 11.8-12.2 range then you looked at the plugs and helped me from that point on.

I will try the 52N 33F jets since I already have them then up it to the 200 shot when the other jets come in. I will pull plugs for the 150 shot and you guys can tell me if the timing and fuel are ok.

Well I went out onto a lightly traveled street to test the 150. I started with a 62N 35F since I had them already. It was rich so I went down to a 33F and was still rich. I did not have any more(smaller) jets to put in the fuel side so I opted to increase the nitrous side to a 78N(200 shot) and put in the 35F jet in. It was showing rich on the wideband so I pilled down to a 33F and it was dipping into the low 10's. Those same jets(79N 33F) were in the 11.8 range in the Camaro so I knew something was not right. Plus it was not pulling very hard.

I checked the bottle and the pressure was down to about 500psi and the NANO was down to about 1000psi. So apparently I was out of nitrous.

Tomorrow I am going to the track so I will have to start over again with the 62N 35F and work my way to a 12.0 A/F. Have to go fill the NANO and nitrous bottles first though.

I will be posting some pics of the plugs from the track if I can.

BTW, I swapped to BR7EF plugs since I was going to increase the nitrous to 150 and maybe 200. They came gaped to .020 so I put them at .033. Is tha OK?

While changing the plugs one of the MSD wires was pulled from the boot so I had to go out and buy a new set of spark plug wires.

Here's a program I use as a starting point.....Mfg's jet recommendation is the "safe" call.

What are the plugs looking like. I don't trust a wideband, especially when dialing stuff in initially.

It was dark out last night when I did the runs so I did not pull plugs. I can pull some right now but I dove home with those plugs so I don't think they would show anything helpful.

I just took off the alternator and need to get it to the shop to get it fixed then go refill the bottles for today's track event. I bought a 10 pack of plugs so I only have two extra which I will be using at the track. I will pull #7 as that seems to be the hottest(and the hardest to get to) plug.

That was my initial starting point but the recommended jets are way too rich so I started jetting down on the fuel side.

Just got back from the track. Disappointed as I was not able to spray it.

The electrical gremlin is still there from last night. Bought a new higher amp alternator this morning and put it in but the voltage still drops. I have a Optima yellow top that is working good so it isn't that either. Crawled under it to check the grounds and they all seemed fine.

Tried to spray but it did not work. I guess it was to low on voltage for the solenoids to work. I went down the track in all battery power and the dash lights were lit up like a Christmas tree then they would completely turn off then back on and so on.

Will take it in on Monday and see what they find.
