moving right along: finally lowered!
so i bought some used guys off a local car forum. he had to cut the top nuts off on each front strut so i bought some new shocks to go on the front. i don't have a before picture of the rear well up close. i took the pictures in the rain so it's crappy quality. as for the ride, it is much more firm and responsive. overall, i LOVE it!

Did you get stock replacements for the front? The reason why I ask is because the stockers or stock replacements won't be able to handle the spring rate of a lowering spring. They can barely handle the stock spring specs. As stated before Bilstein (if on a budget) and Koni (if money permits).

because you are putting the same and more force on the shock that is now limited in travel even more because of the spring being shorter. the valves will wear out because its distance of travel is changed, and it will not function the way it is designed to function. you need a shock that is meant for lowering, such as (in order of price): tokico blue's, kyb agx's, bilsteins, and koni's. heard good things about edelbrock's adjustables too.

It all depends on what your want to do with your car too and will lead to the shock your after. The stock shocks are one of the weakest points on our cars. If you plan on keeping the car spend the extra few bucks and get some quality stuff. Also read this stickies in the suspension section. A lot of good info there and should help you get a better understanding of suspension and may help point you in the right direction.

A drag car isnt about a nice ride. Your about to ride like a drag car when those stock shocks wear out.
And since when are bilsteins ok for lowering? I thought they would have the same spring rate issue with lowering springs. I have the HD's now but Im stock ride height. Im gonna go to coilovers to lower it.
