Default lt1 camaro..... clutch fork help

Hey everyone its been a while since I pulled and installed my t56 and I'm running into an issue. I bolted the trans to the engine and installed them together into the car. My problem is I can't get the clutch fork to connect to the through out bearing. It pops out but bumps the bell housing before I can move it over the through out bearing. Did I miss a step? How do I do this. I feel like a jack *** on this one.

Is the clutch hub sticking forward to the flywheel or backwards to the pressure plate?

Clutch hub? This is a lt1 camaro. I'm not sure what a clutch hub is. The clutch is engaged right now and I can't get the clutch fork on to the through out bearing.

The centre part of the disc that sticks out.

If it's installed backwards, the bearing will be pushed too far back toward the trans. and the slave end of the fork will come forward to the bellhousing while you're trying to put the bearing end of the fork back.

If the hub is backwards, the disc may be damaged.
