What do you have now for a gear ratio? What rear end do you have?

I have 3.73s in my car and its ok. Most will probably say to go with 4.10s for an M6 as MPG's don't tend to suffer all that much.

Just finished this same swap and have put about 20 miles on the car. Everyone here will tell you 4.10s, but so far I love the 3.73s. Before with the stock 3.42s the clutch was horrible (textralia exo-skel) taking off and it bucked low rpm cruise speed. It cleared up 80% of the drivablility complaints I had.

4.10s IMO will make the car too tail happy at anything over 1/4 throttle. It spins, you put stickier tires on it to be able to drive it, then you pop the 10 bolt.

Don't worry, the 3.73s are still ALOT of fun. It's still very streetable, but anything over 3000rpm in second lights the tires up.
