Question Truck L76 engine and TSP 231/236 cam?

I called TSP yesterday to spec a cam for my truck L76 motor and they recommended the 231/236 cam, and when I inquired about headgaskets I advised I wanted to run the thinnest possible due to I have the truck L76 with the valve reliefs (9.7:1 ratio). The person there told me to run stock due to the PTV clearance.

I wasnt sure till today that the truck L76 engine had the less compression than the car L76.

Is there a way I can run the .030 Cometic gaskets with this cam and engine. Or does someone else have another suggestion?

Thanks

Default

Too tight to run the thin gasket. If you want to tighten quench by running that gasket, you will need to run less intake duration, either the 229/236 or 225/230 camshaft.
