Default switching from EFILive (custom OS) to HP Tuners, but want to save tune

I did some searching but couldn't quite find the answer I was looking for. I had my car tuned after I did the cam install and the tuner used EFI Live, and loaded the PCM with a custom EFI Live OS. I already own HP Tuners, and would like to be able to use it. HP Tuners allowed me to read entire, didn't give me any errors. The only time I got an error was when I tried to license the PCM with HP Tuners (OS and VIN didn't match, so HP Tuners couldn't license it).

Now my question is, if I can get the PCM flashed back to a stock OS via Tech 2 or something, could I then just load the tune I read from the EFI live OS PCM onto it?

Tune is attached, this is the tune I read off of the EFI Live OS PCM with HP tuners. Would there be any issue uploading this tune to a fresh PCM? I ask because I'm not sure if some of the aspects of the tune are "lost in translation" when reading an EFI live OS with HP Tuners.

You can not flash that tune with HPT into a PCM.

Use the copy over differences feature within the comparison window, takes about 20 seconds to copy over an entire tune from one file to another.

Because of operating system compatibility issues, your going to have to do alot of cut/paste from the current EFI tune if you want to use HP Tuners with your current situation, after reflashing to stock of course.

Give this a try...........

ChazzyChaz.EH1.hpt

Make sure your VIN is the same before and after flashing. Might have to do a VATS relearn. Oh yeah, you'll need the latest beta to open it. If you don't have the latest beta, email support@hptuners.com

I'll give that a shot this week, thanks! What is the best place to go/tool to use to flash a stock OS back on to my PCM (to overwrite the EFILive custom OS)?

You should be able to do a write entire with your HPT. If not, tech2 time. If you don't have anyone close with one, send me a PM and I can do it for you.

I'll give it a shot tomorrow (after I get the most recent HPT beta) and let you know. Thanks again.

Our software won't even open an efi cos(it will give a definition failed to load AND vin/os pair error)...the file posted is simply a 2001/2002 operating system paired with a 2000 vin, not really a custom os, more of a custom pairing of vin/os's. Copy over differences should work just fine as our software can compare two different operating systems

Thats why I posted that I know neither software can open the others COS. I thought he said he had a EFI COS tune done, I didn't look at the file to see what he had. The comparing different OS is a handy feature BTW.

If you want to be dead sure, then copy/paste every table
that differs from stock tune (I imagine you have a compare
function in EFILive?) into an Excel 'sheet and then push them
onto your new tune in the new tool one by one. Just on the
off chance that one company's custom OS rearranges some
chunks in a way the other company's doesn't recognize, or
something.
