Default Double din in an LT1?

I have been looking around at radios and I definately want a double din. I have a 93 bird. I will be purchasing a new dash assembly due to a huge hole in it because of an aftermarket tach from a previous owner and some other misc holes. I figured now would be as good of a time as any to upgrade my headunit. How much work is required in hooking up the new unit?
