Default Coolant hose question

So I deleted the "oil cooler" a few years back. I think the hose I ran from the radiator to the waterpump is now leaking. Can I just cap it off at the water pump and radiator? Do I really need that hose? Seems like it doesn't serve a purpose, but figure I would ask.

So no one knows if it would be best to keep a hose running there?

It can be capped off i'm pretty sure, although you could probably spend the same money on caps as you would for a new section of hose. I bought the actual GM bypass hose from my dealer but you don't need to do that.

Thanks, I guess it didn't end up mattering, I just had to tighten the clamp a little more on the huge hose going into the thermostat housing. It must have swelled and contracted or something a bit more, hose is about 2 years old. I parked the car in the shade of the shop to install the wideband two days ago, so maybe something like that, that is my theory at least.
