Default 98 ls1 stock oil pump o-ring looks square? Help!

When I took the oil pump off and pulled the pick up tube out the o ring looks square. Is it round and just square from sitting in there all those years or is it a special o ring because in the felpro timing cover gasket kit it comes with three oil pump o rings and the black one is closest to the Stock one which appears to be brown. Thanks.

hard to tell without seeing it. My guess is something in the oil affected it.
An additive, nitrous use, or perhaps an overly rich tune at some point where
a bunch of MTBE ( 10% ethanol ) crap fuel got past the rings and distorts
rubber pieces. Same issue carb guys have w/ accelerator pump diaphrams.
