Default Hooker aerochamber build quality = crap

Alright so i finally figured out an exhaust rattle that I had @ 3k rpm, turns out the Hooker aerochamber muffler is broken inside of it. It sounds like there is rocks in it at idle. The catback is not even 2 years old, the build quality is crap. I did like the exhaust tone of the hooker muffler, do you guys think a magnaflow muffler would give a similiar sound. I dont want it super loud, i like it loud enough at idle to hear the cam but not obnoxious loud when cruising.

I had a magnaflow cat back on my 99 Z28, it was stock cats and manifolds. A bit too quiet IMO with the stock cats and manis, but I think it would work great in your application. I've read the magnaflow is one of the best flowing mufflers you can buy. Mine sounded great, nice low deep rumble, none of that popping glasspack type of sound that I detest.

Ive got a flowtech afterburner muffler. Its a chambered muffler like the hooker is but sounds just a little more aggresive at high rpms. At idle and cruising in 6th gear I cant hear mine inside the car. Drone isnt bad at all and I think I paid like 60 bucks for it. Its not stainless like a magnaflow but mine hasnt rusted any at all and Ive been running it for about 6 months.

I dont have a cam like you though so it will probably be a good bit louder.

Stainless isn't a big deal since you live in Georgia and the op is from Cali.

Eh yea I pretty disappointed in Hooker, after reading more I keep finding people that have the same issue. I think im swaying more towards magnaflow but im gunna keep listening to more sound clips of different set ups.

I have magnaflow on my car with a le cam, and I love the way it sounds. A buddy of mine has a cammed 2000 t/a with the hooker catback, hearing the car pull up our friends can't tell if it's my car or his. The magnaflow, when new, is quiet, but the more you drive the car, the louder it gets. I can hear my cam at idle, and unless I have my foot in it, it's not loud at all, but when I'm in it, it's LOUD.

Ive had a Hooker Aerochamber on my car for about a year with no issues what so ever. The only reason why i took it off was to put my Hooker Maxflow on it. And again, no issues on my end.. no rattles or seems falling apart..

Yea im sure there are alot of good hooker mufflers out there with no problems but now that im reading there are enough people that have had issues to raise a flag. I do have to admit i did like the sound of the hooker (exhaust sound that is hhaha!)

I've had two aerochamber mufflers go bad. The muffler I have now had the rattling sound but it went away after a few weeks and it sounds ok now.
