Should my Cooling Fans run all the time?????

Default Should my Cooling Fans run all the time?????

I installed the slp 160 thermo and the Predator tuner and matched the tuner to the 160 thermo should my fans run all the time they never shut off???

Advice please!!!!!!

What temps did u set the fans too. If you set the low speed fans to 160, then they will be on all the time since the enging runs much warner than that, 175-195.

your turn on temp should be like 180 and shut off like 160.
if you have the turn on at 160 it will never sut off...

I set the first fan at 185 turn on and 165 turn off & the second fan about the same???

sounds about right, try taking the turn off up to 175
next ?
does your gauge show you staying at 160 temp or doe sit look the same?

It still looks like the same 210 as it came from factory maybe a little less than 210!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey the Predator seems to allow me to advance my timming and lean or rich fuel.

how much timming/will it help
how much fuel??

dont play with your timing or fuel unless your on a wide band...
take her to a dyno and have them plot your a/f ... you then can tell if you need an adjustment...
yes it can help alot...
it can also hurt ALOT!!!

Sorry to ask this/but still kinda new to all this new LS1 performance stuff. sure has changed from when I had my 65 chevy 2 nova/375hp/327/turbo 350

What is a wide band/plot my a/f?????

Your stock gauge is trash, it will read a little less than 210 all the time no matter what... Unless your car is a 98 though. Raise the fan temps a little, they should not be on all the time.

hey man this is what we are here for...
wide band is the insterment used to mesure your a/f(air to fuel ratio)
it will tell you wether you are lean or rich or just right...
you can adjust the via pc like you used to have to change jets on your holley carb
at any good dyno they can tell you your a/f at any given rpm
and you can adjust on the spot to optimise it

really appreciate your advice/I may not know a lot at this time about the world of the LS1 but I can tell when someone knows a product.

in truth i am still learning everyday on this motor....
my specialty is old carb monsters too...
but i could not deny the fun of this motor....
