Default Switching to a 350 turbo

We are switching to a 350 Turbo with transbrake. Does the PCM need to see the speed sensor input? or can i just wire tie all the 4l60e wiring up and out of the way and have the trans functions removed from the PCM.

Thanks

I dont believe it needs to be hooked up. I pulled out my th350 out of my car and there were no wires hooked up to it.

It will work good with no other changes than disablig DTC's
However, there are better ways to do it, like a segment swap and installing a Vss

Are you taking DTC's for the transmission? What do you mean segment swap? If I put a vss in does it need to be the 40 pulse/rev?

Yes, if the 4L60E harness is unplugged the PCM will give several transmission DTC's. You only need to disable them and it will work good. I did it with a few cars and no problems after 3 years of daily driving.

With a segment swap you convert an automatic tune to a manual one.
The Vss signal is to let the PCM know the car is moving so it uses the correct timing tables, it doesn't need to be acurate.

Some people that have done swaps have had trouble with the engine dying, when coming to a stop, without a VSS. Some people have had good luck without one. It seems to be hit and miss as to whether or not the engine will try to die when you come to a stop. If it tries to die, just get an aftermarket vss that will screw onto the th350 tranny. Several different companies have them.

I have done a tone of th350, th400, and glide swaps over the years. Its better to flash the pcm over to a 6 speed, I have had some have torque management issues when I left the 4l60e tune there and some work fine. On my own car I have had several motors and went from 4l60e, th400 to a glide and left the 4l60e tune in there and never had problems until my last motor and the glide. I just swapped the current tune over to a 6 speed and the torque management issues went away.
