Default removing plug wire boots?

i know, i know...stupid question but how the hell do i remove the plug wire boots off the plugs?


just yank them bitches off? they dont seem to move very easy.....am i missing something?
geezz!!! i can barely get my hands in there to grab the boots


answer first before lettin me have it for such a dumbass question!

Lol. yes... just pull.

BUT hold onto the larger plastic piece right above the boot, not the wire.

Grab by the boot not the wire I got mine off easy just have to get a good/firm grip on em #8 the last plug on the passenger side is a pain

whats up with those stupid metal shields? can they come off? i know they are heat shields but damn! do they really have to be there? how do they come off? i can get to the boot alot better if they were not there.

#8 seems to be easiest from under the car (last plug on the passenger side).

what about the metal shields? do they come off and do they HAVE to be there?

this will be the best advice....twist while you pull. it breaks the grip that the boot has on the top of the plug. metal shields are a pain i just work around them. its easier than taking them off.

mine were a b#%* with only 10k on the car.twist and pull,have lots a beer and band aids on hand.use dielectric grease for the plug wire install.test the wires and plugs before install.it don't require much torque to install the new plugs.you need the shields with stock or uncoated exhaust manifolds.
