Question How do you remove 02' TA Taillamp housing?

Im trying to replace the outer bulb in my tail lamp and I cannot pull the housing back far enough to get in there and replace it. I removed the 4 wingnuts. I dont wan't to break the thing.

Shouldn't that be enough to loosen up the housing to get in there.

How do you do this? I checked the manual and it looks like the entire housing should come off after removing the wingnuts but that is not happening.

Help/advice is much appreciated

Just pull up or give it a little wiggle. Sometimes the threads on the bolts catch the lip of the body.

i tried pulling and wiggling in every direction possible. It almost seems as if there is something on the outer end where I'm trying to get to that just won't allow me to pull of the housing.

So annoying. Anyone else have issues when trying to do this?

Help! i hate driving around with bulbs blown out. I really dont want to shatter it trying to pull it off so I can get in there to swap the bulb.

You said FOUR wing nuts? There's a 5th one way in there.

Correct! The fifth one is almost to the outer edge of the tail light housing.
Don't tug on it too much...they can break off.

Thank you. That give me back my sanity over taking care of something so simple. It's weird the manual says 4 wing nuts.
