okay so i pulled my motor a few days ago, she turned 100k so i thought i would freshen it up and what not, and found this little hole between the intake and the block on the backside of the engine, what is it, and why is it there?

Get the oil off and then get us a real picture. I would be for the oil sender, but I can't see a damn thing in that picture. Some of the 94's did have their sender up top and others on the bottom above the filter.

I can't see a damn thing in that picture. Some of the 94's did have their sender up top and others on the bottom above the filter. That hole doesn't look to be in the right place for the sender thou, it does look to be the source of your massive oil leak.

My guess is the cross drilled hole that connects the top oil port for the pressure sensor to the oil passage. It has a plug in it.

I don't think it was for the oil pressure sensor it is way to close too the head; my oil sensor is closer to the middle of the intake.

It's just a normal oil passage which should have either a soft plug or a pipe plug in it just make sure when you get your block back from the machine shop that either a pipe or soft plug is put back in otherwise upon startup all of the oil will leak from your engine and kill it.

It's an oil gallery hole that has a plug in it. Every LT1 block has it.

That's an oil plug? Maybe my eyes deceiveth me, but that looks like a hole drilled into the block? It's under the head as well which looks to be in the wrong location for an oil galley plug...
It would explain the massive amount of sludge all over creation as well...

yea i agree thats about all i can think of unless somebody had a really bad idea for a crank case ventilation point lol........id be curious to see if there are any holes in the bototm of the intake manifold......that will tell it

Yeah that's what it looks like to me. Definitely not for some hidden nitrous lulz.
