Custom shifter *****
(FYI: I'm not affiliated with this company, but I've been pestering the dude with questions & he's happily answered them all *VERY* quickly! I will buy from him if I can get the shifter with the right thread. He will work with you on threaded or slip type mounting too.)
I'm not sure this will work (yet), but I've been hankering for a new shifter for awhile & figured while I'm at it, get a custom ****. It also had to be brand agnostic or just NOT Ford (important to me, maybe not you!). So, I started browsing around to see what I could find on ebay. Here is what I've found:
My fave: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2010-CHEVY-CAMARO-SHIFT-****-GEAR-SHIFTER-6-SPEED-RS-SS-/370417369435?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories &hash=item563e98815b

(Kinda odd to be in a 9ball rack?)
Remember, I haven't even owned my V but for ALMOST 3 months & only drove it for 5 weeks . . .
. . . but I could've sworn that the reverse was out on the right? Why would he advertise this as "CTS" then?

AHH, he sent me this, but no link to the auction:
Anyways, I've been talking to azn2dmax to figure out how to get this to work with his shifter. Sick Speed said they can give a threaded **** with 16mm x 1.5 threading & a jam nut to ensure the orientation of the labeling. azn is now checking for me if he can get that on the shifter (I'm hoping so!).
The only thing left I can't answer is how would the boot stay up? Sick Speed offers a stalk slip over (I guess) that will work with that. Does not add anything to the height of the shifter, but likely makes the boot sit lower:
Unrelated to the seller, but I thought about a C6 Z06 shift **** too:

Found the right side reverse, colored **** with black stripes & posted the image above.
Now I'm torn as to which one to get. As I look more & more at the interior, I think the black will blend, but not (everything surrounding is flat charcoal).
Then again, I want something that stands out. Red/Yellow are out. So I'm thinking gray or white colored **** with black stripes. I think the white will REALLY stand out nicely.
ARGH DECISIONS!

So, I ordered/received both ***** since I'm unable to make a decision. I think the white w/black stripes would stand out for that small touch of custom and the black w/gray stripes would likely blend, but only 1 way to tell. They have some decent weight to them.
I *HOPE* to get my car back with in the next week or so. Time will tell. When I do, !CAGS, shifter + ****, Kicker sub + amp, K&N CAI will follow very quickly. In the next month or so, headers/!mufflers.

Fits like a glove. The only thing I'd suggest in the future would be to wrap the threaded end in duct tape for shipping because it had busted thru on the envelope. I'd hate to see the threads all buggered up.
As for the ***** themselves, they're pretty sharp. They not super heavy, but not exactly featherweight either. It's almost like a blank billiard ball they hallowed out pretty good, so it's lost a lot of it's mass. You might could load some stuff near the top of the threading to give it more heft. We'll see how it feels once installed.
