Small Block & Big Block Chevy Specific - proper main bearing clearance?

hey guys, what is the proper main bearing clearance in a 350 CI chevy SB street/strip usage?

Rule of thumb, .001" per inch. I go a tad loose, .003" on the mains for a hot engine.
