It should work. I would think. I could be wrong though.
Try a lower setting and / or on a junk bolt to see if it's working at all.
its brand new craftsman, i just bought it, i dont have any junk bolts that are reverse thresds, i was tugging and tugging and it never clicked so i left it.

90lbs isn't that much torque. My snap-on works both ways, IDK about craftsman, though. Loosen it to 20 ft-lbs and see if it clicks

My craftsman click type torque wrench works both ways. Its probably only 4-5 years old

Some craftsman ones will work both ways, the ones with a plastic window with increments will, I had one with the increments etched
on the handle that didn't. My digital snap on does.

Most don't but some do. Older ones don't. My cheapo Great Neck doesn't and oneof my dad's Snap-on's doesn't.

I just went through this today when I was rebuilding a Fuel Oil Centrifuge. Because of the direction of rotation many of the items on it are reverse thread. I had to torque fasteners from 20NM to 250NM. The smaller torque wrench I had had an arrow on it saying one direction only. I tried switching the ratchet over and tightening the reverse thread, it DID NOT click. We have around a dozen torque wrenches in the shop so I went and found another that would click in both direction.
