Default new T56 in a 98'....skip shift now stuck

my 98 z28 just got a T56 out of a 2000 or newer car....the skip shift stays engaged now...thought it was the reverse lockout and skipshift hooked up backwards but I unpluged the lockout and plugged it in the skip shift and got nothing...neither one of these plugs fit into the skip shift like i think they should...one is black, one is white with a blue cap..which one goes to what and does the 98' use a different style plug for the skip shift?? ran into the same thing with the coolant sensor....

The solenoid itself is black for reverse; white for CAGS (skipshift) in case you suspect the solenoids got swapped. With the CAGS sol. unplugged, if you are blocked from shifting 1-2 w/ the car off, that's the likely issue.
