Pontiac G8 2008-2010 - G8 Paint

I posted this also over in the appearance and detailing forum, but I thought you G8 guys might weigh in on this question.

I can't seem to keep a finish on my wife's black G8. I've used Zaino, Liquid Glass, and good ol' Meguiar's Yellow #26. A few weeks to a couple of months and the paint is dry as a bone again. The Meguiar's probably lasted the longest. When it started getting a little thin, I freshened it with some spray wax, but after a couple of weeks, it was dry.

In contrast, two coats of Zaino on my DD silver Formula lasts 6+ months. What gives? Is it the black color or the paint quality?

I use Meguiar's Gold Class wax and it lasts about 6 months using a mild car wash soap & water to wash my car. Don't use dishwashing soap since it will strip the wax from the paint.

What Zaino products did you try? And did you use ZFX?

If you want something long lasting, you want Collinite 885/476s... period. But the right Zaino stuff with ZFX should last a good 4-6 months anyway, with the potential for even more.
