Well I haven't turned a wrench in a while. But today I did get around to lowering the Mach which was very much needed. I bought some cut stock springs from another Mach owner and installed a MM pinion snubber. I must say it looks SO much better!! :chug:

Cut Springs? Really? It might look better but that cannot be good for your suspension.

The stock springs (mainly rear) are best for traction, so you figure it out.

By this time next week I'll be nearly at the "DONE!!!" mark for my car. By saturday/sunday of next week here is where it will stand: fully forged 402 LS2 (built for a BIG shot of nitrous) w fully ported LS3 heads, baby starter shot from my NOS fogger, Gforce carbon fiber driveshaft, EBC drilled/slotted rotors, "Red" pads, full set of braided brake lines, new CarbonMan carbon fiber lip spoiler and SAP grills on, ... oh yeah ARP wheel studs... and hell I don't even remember what else, there is LOTS AND LOTS of boxes awaiting install for when my car gets back from it's engine transplant!
This is what I'm putting on to the car over the next week ontop of what I've already got done (list too long to remember).. I'm always modding, but the car has been at the shop so I couldn't install the stuff as it arrives so all next week will be one big install.
Eventually I'll get some nice rims for it, but that is proving to be ALOT harder then I thought as the very very few rims I like on a GTO are also the most popular styles-- So I'm saving up for a set of custom built rims. Gonna suck paying for that bill.... cuz it'll be 6 rims to buy....

Sounds like fun. I enjoy the videos of your car.
Got the Nitrous Outlet kit installed a couple weeks ago, stripped and polished the wheels, got new front tires so now she is sitting on Nitto 555R DR's out back and NT555 street tires out front. Saving money for awhile as I'm headed back up to college in 6 weeks and probably won't touch the car myself again until March after that.

WeaponX CoPs, Bassani Midlength Header and matching catted-X pipe, ported and polished lower intake...Dynoed and retuned..
The part that I did, was installed CoPs and removed Shaker Assembly, PHP Intake Spacer and upper and Lower Intake. Local machine shop did the port and polish. I did not intall the headers either. The motor had to be dropped to get them in. To damn heavy for my ass...

new blower (the little KB is getting tired. It makes good power, but she's getting old now).

I did not know what "recently" meant so I just rounded it off to one year. Performance parts get real expensive so there is only a limited budget for me...well according to the wife's rules.
Boy, do I miss my old single days when my coffee table was a 69 SuperBee 383 block with a piece of plywood and my budget was whatever I had in my pocket at the time minus the rent. :bang:

Im toughing it out with him because I know he does good work plus every shop I call says a 3 month wait at least.
When I get it back I plan on a "stock" n/a setup like before. Going to upgrade the stock suspension and fuel system. I wouldn't mind a Turbo or blower setup but right now I just want to see how far I can get the car n/a.

I will eventually do the fans, reason why I won't do it now is because the truck is certified used which comes with a 12 month bumper to bumper. If something happened an intake and tune can be reversed easily and quickly, an e-fan setup not so much. I don't want to give the dealer a reason to void the warranty. As the 12 Month warranty is coming to an end I will get the e-fans.

Ehhhh....no. I loved the car and did not want to get rid of it. The car looked bone stock on the outside and sounded subtle while daily driving, but it surprised a lot of people when I got on the throttle, and the sound was just orgasmic. I needed to get rid of it because I was having to pick up and drop off my daughter at the daycare a little too much, and the backseat was getting a little too cramped for her legs at 2 years old. My wife thought an SUV would be a good idea and by no means was I gonna get rid of my mustang for a Honda crv or a highlander. I might jump on a fox body soon.

Yeah I know what your talking about. I know from a local guy that the tc78 and pt88 are about tge same depth. Just a bit wider so If I wanted to upgrade it will fit. I'd just have to get a bigger downpipe to fit it.

payed money, money, and some more money on new parts for the vette :( thats all. hopefully it will be done really soon. just bought some used 80# injectors and 2 nano kits. still need to buy a clutch, thinking about the RPS BC3 (that thing is F****** expensive) also need a new fuel system to do 250shot. but for now I will start N/A tune the car,,, keep it N/A for at least couple of months (I doubt it lol) and then start spraying a 100-150shot depends on how much the stock fuel pump will handle. I am also considering doing bap and hopefully it will be enough to do that 250shot. we will see how that goes. also just got my CAI painted and will be sending off my wheels in few days to get it powdercoated black. among other few things that cost more and more money........ :(

Anyway here is the video I took after it had ran for a few minutes and I felt comfortable with the oil pressure and coolant temps. Don't mind the noisy valve train, the lash was set loose for start up and have since been adjusted.

I did a swap to rear disc brakes on the Chevelle.i had the same experience swapping some (rear) iroc disc brakes to our 72 ss el camino. i had to grind the fins off the top of the caliper.
just curious; was that a direct swap or did you have to put some sort of spacer between the backing plate and caliper bracket? i had about 7/16 of an inch to make up between the two in getting the rotor in the caliper bracket. i had to bring the bracket out away from the backing plate.
on a side note, i had a friend do some tuning on the ta for me. stock tune had 24* timing and wot afr @ 12.6 - i didn't think that was too bad. we added 3-4* timing and took out a touch of fuel at wot and a TON of fuel at part-throttle. i'm curious to see how it affected the car's trap. deleted about a million codes and FINALLY removed cags.

I finally got around to deciding what I wanted to do so I'm getting it back together and where I want it to be for now.
Sad part.... It was a quick wash/inside cleaning.... The interior is spotless of course but the exterior probably is cleaner than most peoples car on here. :bang: Perfectionist FTL! Needs a good 8 hour exterior detail. Clay bar to Wax, underside, engine bay is still clean but I'll do it anyway.

Yes I have some stuff going in soon with my fast 90 and throttle body and Im going the end of the season to hit 11's with bolt-ons. Than I will be doing heads/cam... I would do them now, but I would like to hit 11's with bolt-ons fiirst. Plus I will get alot bigger gains having plenty of Intake and exhaust for the h/c setup....

I seen where you have posted yours made 360rwhp....if that's the case you don't know what your doing and neither do they. Unless it was a mustang dyno, then it's still a little low. What was your track times again?

LMAO! Thats funny right there. You are a piece of work. If you saw the dyno numbers you should of seen it was a WS6 vert and I didn't want to chop it up by putting a cage in it. I'm sure since you race so much you know what the rules are for verts. I'm also sure you are aware how few six speed WS6 verts were built in 2001. At the end of the day your still a douchebag and I am beginning to doubt your claims since there is no proof of it. A sig full of numbers and you flapping your gums isn't proof.

I made 440rwhp in my Z06 with a 228/232 cam, ported heads... And full boltons... It was a little hot that day, but still... You have a graph of this? Most crate LS6's will dyno at 355-360rwhp... And you're picking up 65-70rwhp with just boltons??
Maybe you don't know what the fuck your doin....did you think about that? What did yours run at the track? I have the track #'s to back mine up.
Not the only dyno I've seen where the printer was'nt working. I have a graph for my 413rwhp....was on the same dyno that 03turbomach did 432. Is 432 happy for a turbocharged 32v v8?
I can see the gains from bolt ons and the right tune. Also with little stuff to help make that power. Aluminum Driveshaft/lighter wheels/brakes/lighter aluminum flywheel. All that helps put power down.
Also every dyno a little different.

For sure on his part from what I've heard and read. It's ashame it can't take a little more, so easy with boost just to turn it up. We dyno'ed on the same day also. One after another.

I'm not buying his claimed HP. Not a chance in hell he made that much power with a stock LS6 and full boltons. He must be related to Juice. Or the dyno isnt reading right. I'm waiting on the graph.

Do you believe that bolt-on well tuned ls1's make 350-360 rwhp? If so add 60, a ls6 is rated @ 60 more. I posted a graph when it made 413rwhp/395rwtq somewhere on here. The fast 90 made 13 more rwhp and 10 more rwtq, mot unheard of at all.
edited for graph before fast 90

I can't for the life of me figure out why a ls site will nay say my #'s but swing from the nuts of new bolt-on 5.0's that make 30-40 more rwhp but can't back their's up at the track.

well the direction is decided. 1.625 primaries.
headers:
they are just tacked. have to start somewhere. two more tubes on this side.
number 5 will merge directly into the 2.5" pipe.
where the tubes from 7 and 8 join, the tubing steps from 1.625 to 1.75".

A good friend had a spare that he gave to me. Can't go wrong with free! I don't race it that much. The slicks were me attempting to get my "man card" back at the track because I ran pretty slow my last to time out because I couldn't launch on street tires. 12.3 @ 118.X with a 2.05 60'.
I wanted to just get 1 low 11 second pass and I would have been thrilled. Not sure if I'm ready for a second attempt on the slicks. We'll see!

2. Flushed the cooling system. Burping it tomorrow. (Took today off and didn't want to wake the kids up last night by starting the car)
3. Rotated the tires and checked air pressure.
4. Running lines for front brakes. Using the air pump as the air supply. This is the last thing I will get finished. See air pump section on post #1. Thanks Jim! http://ls1tech.com/forums/suspension-brakes/1572847-diy-brake-ducts-less-then-20-bucks.html

billet 76? im going to switch to a billet wheel, tune run for WHILE then 80mm.
bought a different manual brake delete system. smaller bore should make it easier to stop. had UPR, switched to aerospace system. installed the ABS delete manifold, putting line lock on delete manifold soon.
