Default hughes 2500 stall converter only preloads to 1300rpm, what gives?

I just got a 2500 stall converter for my 93 z28, it was at summit on the discount rack for $100, and it only preloads to 1300rpm. my stock one went to 1100rpm before the tire broke loose. the rear brakes are good with brand new pads and rotors so im kind of stumped. I know it wouldnt preload to 2500 behind a near stock lt1 with a stock cam but 1300rpm doesnt make it worth it. any thoughts?

Thats transbrake or flash stall. NO ONE can give you accurate footbrake stall for obvious reasons.

It's configured a little off. It happens sometimes, especially with the cheaper converters.

You should have done more research, the Yank SS 3600 is by far the best all around LT1 converter.

Sounds like you got a cheap hacked up stock 12" converter. COMPLETE waste of money.
