Default Why do LT1 dry kits come with fuel pumps?

I found a dry kit from an ls1 for a friend who has an lt1 he complained about it looking different from the kit he was recomended and after I looked around I see that the 5176 kit comes with some sort of fuel pump where as the 5177 kit doesn't is the stock Lt1 fuel pump not as good or what? Is running a hundred shot of Nitrous without upgrading any of his fuel system not recomended?

Thanks
Gilbert

The pump is inline. Your safest bet is still to upgrade the one in the tank- I'm not a fan of 2 pumps in a row...

the LT1 used a "nos blue thingy" as the techs at NOS like to call it, it is a fuel pressure booster, when your spraying, it basically boosts the fuel pressure when your system is armed.

the MAF does not add the extra fuel, you need to boost fuel pressure to like 75-100 psi, (not sure exact range, just know its highpressure) for the stock LT1 injectors to support the added power. That is why the fuel pump is needed.
