Default Yank ss4000

I was gonna go with the ss3600, but figured I should go big or go home. So in a month I have an appt to get a ss4000 installed with a basic shift points/ect tune. Right now car just has a lid and full exhaust. Looking at possibly the TSP 233/239 in the future.

What did I get myself into?

Nice! I'm just hoping I can keep the 10-bolt together until this winter when I can step up to a 9" or 12 bolt.

It'll hold up, don't sweat it. Had a rebuilt 10 bolt that I built the other day at the track and guy cut several 1.6xs and 1.5x 60fts with no issues. Probably made a dozen passes.

Make sure you get some nice drag radials with that stall. I have mt et streets. About 300 miles on them now. I run them at 20 psi and they still spin with the stall. lol. You will be very happy after you get the break in miles on your stall.

Great converter. Just don't plan on hitting it with a shot. They seem hit or miss once you get into the 150hp region.

What? Hit or miss on what? Are you referring to the stall or rearend?

I couldn't decide on the 3600 or 4000, so I had Dave at Yank make me a SS3800.

And you just got yourself into a whole lot of fun! I love my converter. The rear end will be fine but you definately need drag radials, you will be amazed the lack of traction you will now have

Well, if I do throw any spray on later, it would just be a small 100-150ish shot. I've got a pair of 17" nitto DR's, just gotta find a cheap set of rims to throw them on.

I've never driven a stalled car, so I'm looking forward to the experience! People always say they wish they went bigger, so when I thought I was gonna get the 3600 I figured I'd rather take the chance and go bigger. Car isn't a DD, so it's fine if the 4000 isn't the best around town.

01ssreda4 was that you bouncing off the rev limiter like 2 different times at the end of the track? Have you went back to see what it will really do? Should have more mph left in it and e.t if you don't bang the limiter lol

Yep, it nosed over on the 2>3 both runs. You couldn't see it but I could feel it. It definitely hurt my times. It had more 60 ft in it too. I will be taking it back soon.
