Default '93 alternator upgrade?

I've gotten mixed search results but I'm pretty sure my '93 came stock with a 105amp alternator and the 94+'s came with a 140...? If this is correct, can I just swap out mine with a newer one? ...or is the wiring/harness different?

My current one is fine but driving at night w/ headlights on, a/c blowing, and radio on, the needle sits at the very top of the yellow area on the gauge

TIA

I didn't think the stock was 105, more like 124? I have a 97 LT1 alternator on mine, the power cable worked fine, I believe the plug did too, I have an EFI 24X harness now but I ran the 97 alternator back when it had the 93 harness also. It's been a while.

Even if it is 105a it shoudl still be enough to power everything. Try making new grounds and upgrade the wiring. 9/10 that will fix everything.

My 94 has the 124 amp, I always wanted to go to the 140, with everything on it sits on top of the red and dips down sometimes. I have had the car for 7-8 years and its always done it

Im using the 140 amp alternator from the newer LT1 engine, nothing to change besides the alt.

Also do the Big 3 wire mod, well worth it.

My alternator is from a Late 94' model Z28, same connector as the 93-early 94 but 140amps. Just get the alternator for a 94 z28 but it has to have the threaded stud in the back.
