Default Anyway to remove slop from factory Hurst shifter?

Just bought a used factory Hurst shifter and it has some side-to-side slop in it when centered. Is there anyway to adjust this or rebuild it to get rid of the slop?

Pull 4 bolts. Inspect and possibly shim or replace the springs.

That would be awesome. Do they sell replacement springs and/or shims, or am I on my own for finding something that works?

Dealer? No.
Hurst? Dunno but they offer rebuild service on some shifters which is probably more $ than you finding something that works.

hurst has replacement/ high-load spring sets. If shimming is required, get a new shifter. Shimming will / can cause more problems than a loose feel. These shifters have no design provision for "shimming".

I have a busted one laying around, it had 2 small pieces where the ball sits break off. It was nice and tight side to side at but limp forward and back. I can ship you the lever and springs if you want to see if they're any better.

If you still have the stock shift stick on it get an aftermarket one like the WS6store or Lou's or UMI. It makes a world of difference on the stock Hurst.
