Default TSP Torquer 2(Stock springs/timing set??)

I am currently looking at a vehicle with about 15k on a (TSP Torquer 2 Cam (232/234 .595/.598 @113 LSA) It has the stock valve springs and timing set. Is this something I should be very worried about?

i just put a Torquer v2 112lsa cam in a guys car. we did the PRC double spring/titanium retainer upgrade per TSP's recommendation. That cams lobes require beefier springs to control the valvetrain properly. i don't know that i would "worry" about that car, but if i bought it, i'd change those parts out. Springs pretty much are good or they break. If the car is still running, obviously the stock springs have held up so far, but i wouldn't go ripping on it until it had some good valvetrain parts in it, including pushrods.

Timing set isn't AS important, but few people do a cam swap without at least replacing the chain.

I would still replace the springs and pushrods. Cheap insurance. $300 for a spring kit and some pushrods sound better than a blown engine.

Replace them if you decide to buy.

Yes it has been tuned by Andrew at Complete Steet. What is a good reliable spring that you guys havent seen break? Also what is the reasoning for replacing the pushrods? What kinds? Sorry im coming from the GM 3800 world and looking to get back into an lsx vehicle. Iv heard some comp cam springs fail and crow cam springs are the way to go. Is this true with lsx stuff?

Hard to believe a shop would install and tune a cam with that lift and ramp rates and not install springs and pushrods. They go together, like hookers and condoms.

The cam was installed in Hawaii then tuned somewhere around there. The final tune was done by Andrew at complete street. I realized I posed this in the wrong section but its on an ls2 gto.

Run..........
But I do not believe this, you must be mistaken. Perhaps you mean beehives, but not stock beehives.

I am unfamiliar with the lsx valve train. I am told it has the original from the factory valve springs and timing set. So the lsx has the beehive style stock is what you are saying?

I know the car has 15k on it, but how long has the cam been in there for? Those springs are a ticking time bomb, so I would not drive it anymore with those springs on.

If you do buy the car, replace those ASAP. You don't want to buy the car and then grenade your engine down the street.

The car currently has 41,000 miles and the cam only was installed around 25,000 miles back in 2008.

Couldn't have stated it any better. Hey I just placed that cam in my ride and put on the PAC 1218 single beehive springs good to .600 lift. Think TSP runs a good deal on pushrod and spring package check them out.

I may be missing some points on the pushrods so others feel free to input those misiing points but the stock pushrods have always been one of the weaker links in these LS engines since their release so going to chromemoly hardened pushrods is always a good thing.
