Rematch: 2001 WS6 vs. Evo IX *HD Vids* So I went out to the weekly meet again to see if I could get some rematches with the Evo IX and 335i that I raced a few weeks back. The 335i apparently wasn't running well so he didn't want to race. That left the Evo, and finally after waiting around all night we went down to Mexico to get some runs in.
Unfortunately my car was not wanting to go into 4th tonight. We ran about six times, and only two times did the car go into 4th cleanly. The other times it was not happy. The clutch was sticking, it's time for a tick MC! I was very angry about this, and I still am.
My car is an '01 WS6 M6 with Lid/LT's/ORY/Catback and is untuned.
His car is an Evo IX with Bolt ons and approx. 312whp on a Mustang Dyno.
Here are the only two runs that were worth uploading. The first run he misses 5th gear. I miss 5th in the second run
Both cars have one passenger, and we were going from 45mph.

Overall I still had a good time. The Evo owner is a super cool guy and we talked before/after the runs. Next time I need to not be missing 4th!

It's too bad that nobody stepped up to you tonight lol, I guess everyone was scared.

...what bolt ons does the evo have? he's not putting out 360whp with just bolt-ons.
a full exhaust (housing,DP, catback) & full intake w/piping will net him around 300-310whp. a tune is where its at but even then he's not gonna see more than 340ish with a tune.

I have seen plenty of bolt on evos make 400AWHP with bolt ons. Intake, Exhaust, Cams, FMIC wih all the piping, Crank the boost up and E85, stock turbo too.

...i mean heck...you can "bolt-on" a ported IX turbo housing...does that still qualify as "bolt-on"?
...and you are correct, 400 is achievable with mods you listed (which is the exact route im taking now that you mention it)
