Default Quick Cutout Question.

I've been driving my T/A a lot more lately in the last week and I've been leaving my cut out open.

I never thought there would be any issue with it, but I've been asked am I not worried I'm going to burn a valve riding around with it open.

Now this is normally coming from older car guys and I don't think they realize that the cut out is further back down the exhaust and I'm not just running open headers.

My question is simply, am I right that there shouldn't be any issues running the cutout open for regular/daily driving?

Leave it open as much as you like, you'll be fine. As you stated earlier, the cutout is further back on the I-pipe. Hell some dudes run dual cutouts on the ORY without issue. As long as you got a good tune you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

I've been running with an open cutout in the i-pipe for 5 or 6 years. (For this car, that's only about 32k miles though). No probs.

Your older car guys are trying to compare your cutout with a massive exhaust leak at the headers.
