Default Stall Question????

See sig for current mods. I am looking at buying a Yank 3200 or an Edge. What stalls are suggested? I also have a buddy that says I will loose over drive if the stall is too high! BS?

Loose overdrive? "lose?"

You're friend needs an education on stalls.

3600+ on the stall.

You won't lose overdrive. I've had good luck with my Circle D converter, give them a call or check out their website.

Your friend is stuck a few DECADES in the past.

I would say 32-3600 with that cam for a street car.

SS4000 all the way. You have a cam. Your car makes peak hp well above 5k. The current crop of good converters for the 4L60 do not drive "loose" at all. You wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a 3200 and a 4000 converter if you are just puttering around town. They drive very much like stock when you are cruising. Drop the hammer and the difference will be noticeable. I've never heard of anyone getting a higher stall converter, and wishing they didn't go so high on the stall. I've heard of tons of people getting too small of a converter and later regretting it only a month or so later.
