i doubt you'll find anything under $300
there isnt much to choose from for the LS1's
the only taller ones i can think of are the Katech's and those fabbed covers made by someone...i think it might have been ARE, cant remember

More Performance has a cool billet one. Try $500: http://www.moreperformanceinc.com/im...alve_Cover.jpg. They have a used pair of sheet metal valve covers for $200: http://www.moreperformanceinc.com/us...s_for_sale.htm.
ARE is suppose to have valve covers, don't know hom much they are. Jantzer can smooth down you existing ones and then chrome/powder coat them: http://community.webshots.com/user/jantzer98ss.

Thanks for all of the quick responses..... question since some of the makers are here..... why the beefy valve covers for our cars.... why not a rough texture black set, stamped metal with different logos on them....????? just a question. It seems alot of the valve covers for us right now are one off hand crafted works of art but really expensive for us penny pinchers....

Once again Country boy you are correct..... not everybody drives a C5R Corvette...... us back woods folk just want some alternative..... and the polished ones from Janzter and LS1 speed are nice but the old PCV problem could be solved with a taller valve cover or at least cut some of the suction down somewhat...

I would kill for a set of sheet metal vlave covers. they just SCREAM "this car means business". but 300.00 or more for a set is just freaking crazy. Guess I'll be stuck with the ugly *** stockers for another 15 or 20 years until the LS1 aftermarket is as big as the SB chev motors.
EDIT: Nick I was on your site looking for the covers and couldnt find anything. Is there any way to get you to email or PM me some pics? I may change my mind about getting a set.

The stockers can actually be made to look pretty good.
We smooth the surfaces and powdercoat the stockers for $75. We can remove the coil bosses and fill the holes in with epoxy and powdercoat over the top for $120. Polished valvecovers are $120 for 99+.
We should have a prototype soon of our New Billet Valve covers. They will be approximately 1" taller than stock and more than likely use a breather on top. We will offer them in machined finish, powdercoat, anodized, and fully polished. We are not sure on pricing at this time, but hoping to come in around $225-$325 depending upon options.
