Cadillac CTS-V - Shift Knob Options

View Full Version : Shift Knob Options

I picked up my 04 CTS-V last weekend and I don't like the shift knob at all. The previous owner had installed what he thinks is a B&M shift with a "Type S" shift knob that has LEDs that don't work. So I got it off today so see what I'm working with for replacements and it looks like I need a knob that pushes on. I was hoping to get a C6 Z06 knob but those screw on so I doubt that is an option. So I've seen that my options basically are limited to UCC or Holden/GTO knob or at least that is what everyone is suggesting. Are these my only options? I want something that is mostly black leather so I don't want a ball shifter. Thoughts?

The new V2 knob will work with no mods to a B&M shifter? How much do they go for new?

GTO/Holden knob/boot all the way. The knob is very nicely weighted and the boot is awesome. High quality leather with nice stiching. Makes the shifter look stocker than stock. That stock shift boot is pathetic.

Looks like I was the last one to bump the following thread on CF with the details.

The suede looks nice but I did not know how well it will last.

Looks nice, I might have to steal the idea.

Did the knob itself fit directly, or any modification required?

I'm sure if you matched the C5 knob thread, you'd have a lot of options. I even saw a C6 knob modified to use a C5 threading on ebay. I almost went that way, for $95ish, but I got 2 knobs for just a lil bit more.
