Default Q about wider wheels and rear bumper

Do the wider wheels that stick out a bit farther than the rear skirt cause any damage from increased road debris thrown along the side?

Yes it will, your tires will kick up small rocks that will end up chipping paint.. right in the bottom opening of the rear tires

I put a coat of Turtle Wax over the NXT wax I use over the entire car on the lower portion of the rear quarter panels. I do the same thing with my hood and front bumper.

Interesting ^^^^ Does that seem to help keep chips to a minimum. I run some 3m clear protective plastic and put 3m's blue painters tape on my bumper when I go to the track. I kinda dont like the look of my clear plastic but it works.

Wider the tire, the more debris will be thrown onto your cars lower sections . .

No wax product will protect you from chips . . . only way to prevent that is with a protective film, or deflectors of some kind.

On of those evils to deal with when one wants beefy wheels and tires.

Dammit, I don't want to wreck the rear skirt just to put 305s or 315s on the back, but most of the non BFH'd cars I see pictured with those wheels have them sticking out a good 1/4 to 1/2 in.

Not in all cases.
