Met up with a few friends last night and I hung out with mike991 for the first time. Real nice guy and I had a blast hanging out and getting in on a couple races.

He mentioned that he hasn't done much racing and has never gotten the chance to line up with another fbody, so we were able to set it up.

Mike's car is a 1999 Formula, 6-Speed, with LT headers, catted Y, catback, lid, UD pulley, and LS6 intake.

My friend's 2001 Camaro SS is also a 6-speed car and is stock except for cat deletes.

Both cars had a passenger.

First race was from 40 mph with both cars in 2nd gear. The Camaro missed 4th gear, but it was a good run until that point.

Second race was from 20 mph, with both cars in 1st gear. Both cars had minor traction issues. Apologies for the shoddy camera work in the beginning. I realized at the last second that my window was up and we couldn't hear the beeps, so I was putting the window down quick, rather than watching the camera.

The Camaro is a strong car, but I think Mike could get him with a little practice.

Fun races to ride along for and I'm sure there will be some rematches in the future!

I agree. He hasn't had it to the track yet, but he's neck and neck with another friend's WS6 that runs high 12's at 109 mph.

That camaro is exactly why people like me tend to believe that the fabled wednesday car does exist: along with the dreaded friday car. Good races and suprising outcomes.

Nice meeting you srz! thanks for posting the videos. The ss camaro ran stong! it was fun too race another ls1. That camaro is a sharp looking car hopefully we can get some races in the future.

I feel like the mods on the Formula shouldve given it the upper hand, I find it hard to believe that the SS was stock other than CAT deletes... Did i miss something?

The SS runs neck and neck with another friend's 2001 WS6 that traps consistent 109 mph with just a lid and the SLP option exhaust from a Camaro SS.

My Z28 was the most fun at the bolt-on level too. There are so many cars in that range to play with. Much slower and you get beat up alot and much faster and everyone gets too serious about the races.

Hopefully that holds true. Summer internship/job has been really hindering my racing action this summer. Had a few interviews with Deloitte! We'll see how the next few years of college go. I've been wanting to meet up with some of the MO/IL guys.

I hear ya, i had 2 buddies with f-bodies both 6 speeds. 1 with a 2000 t/a ws6 with just a lid and the other had a 2001 ss with a lid full exhaust and maybe a tune. but the one one with the ws6 would always pull a solid 2 cars from a 60 roll.

saw the same thing happen. I have 2 buddies both 98 both a4. camaro was just gears and filter and the trans am was full exaust full bolton and stall. the camaro reeling him in. Shocked the **** outta me. Anything can happen from a roll on the street.
