Default Basic "Bolt On's Tune" - Now Drilling Fan Sound on Front Driver's Side

Hey Guys, so I recently had a bunch of work done on my car, mainly LT headers and supporting mods (i.e. tune, new 02 sensors, spark plugs, wires, etc.). I had the work done by a reputable performance shop here the burbs of Chicago. Since, I have had this annoying loud drilling/fan noise that kicks in 2-4 times for about 2-3 seconds each time about 3-5 minutes after starting the car. My GF says it sounds like a camera zooming in/out - I think it sounds more like a drilling sound. The sound appears to be coming from the driver's side of the engine. I was told with the tune that this was my "high speed fan" kicking in to keep my engine temperature cooler. Is this common with "tuned" cars? Anyone else have this or did I get some crappy tune? If it is what they say it is, I think I would give up the lousy couple of extra HP I get from it to go back to the way it was before this sound. I feel like it makes the car sound like a POS. Thoughts, suggestions, words of advice are much appreciated. Thanks!

Air pump is part of emissions right? The headers I have don't have emissions hook-up's and all that stuff was supposedly removed. If that's the case do you think I would still have that noise?

Yeah, I think you're right! Thanks to your response I did more searching about the air pump and came across this thread: https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...ump-ghost.html. Sounds just like my situation. I'm sure that this is what the noise is. I never used to hear it before for some reason. Since the things useless now I'm just going to pull the whole thing out. Thanks for your help!

It would be a whole lot easier to pull the air pump fuse.
