New brakes on the SS
Finally got the money together for a new brake package. Much thanks goes out to Tobin at Kore3 for the great package and help along the way. Up front are the 6 piston ZO6 brakes with 14'' rotors and Hawk HPS pads. I did have to use a 5/8'' spacer for the wheels to clear the calipers. In back are the single piston Z51 brakes with 13'' rotors and Hawk HPS pads. Of course SS line all around. Installation went pretty smoothly. Some grinding and modification was needed as the rear abutment brackets didn't line up with the rotors, but not bad. Over all I'm very happy with the entire package. I haven't had a chance to test them to their full potential, but I can definately tell a big difference. Here are some pics.

I thought about getting the matching ZO6 rears, but after doing some research, I just couldn't justify spending the extra 600$. Only about 10-15% of the overall breaking power comes from the rear, so I figured the stronger caliper and larger rotor would be sufficient for my needs. plus I would have to put spacers on the rear as well and I really didn't want to rear tired stick out any further than they all ready do.

Thanks for the compliments.
Everything that was needed to make the rears work was supplied in the package from Kore3. They have custom brackets that line everything up. Check out their website. www.kore3.com

The fronts really weren't that bad at all. To me, the most important thing is to have all the proper tools for the job. The kit does require you to cut off one of the 'ears' of the spindle to make room for their custom bracket. I used an angle grinder with a cut off wheel. Took about one minute to cut off each ear. After that, it's just a matter of bolting everything together and bleeding the brakes. For me, the hardest part was pounding out the old wheel studs and pulling the new ones through. Lots of torque and some anti-sease. Longer wheel studs were required because I had to use a spacer.
