Hello all,
My name is Brendon. I am a 15 year old, high school student from the suburbs of Columbus, Ohio. I have been around drag racing since I was about 2 years old. We had some family friends who ran in the Top Sportsman and Pro Mod classes in the IHRA, and I was immediately hooked. Camaro's and Firebird's are amongst some of my favorite cars ever, and I am really interested in getting one. We had an 84 Camaro IROC-Z that was suppose to be a project car, but we never got around to doing it because it came to be quite expensive in the long run. Yesterday, my dad bought a 95 Camaro 6-Speed V8. My mom also likes Camaro's as well, particularly fifth-generation ones.
For my first car, I am thinking about buying myself a 4th generation Camaro, but some cons would be the outrageous insurance. I am open to 3rd generation Camaro's too. I just absolutely like the look of them, but if I got a V8 then it would be even worse on insurance. I don't really want a convertible, but I may consider for the right price. I drive my mom's car occasionally, and it's a 5 Speed Manual, and I have gotten the hang of it for the most part. Would a 4th generation Camaro be a good first car for me?
