Default What year PCM do I have?

When I bought my car I was told that it had a PCM out of an 02 b/c of something to due with tuning. Suppose to make it easier or something. Anyway as I've completed more and more work to the car I've found about 50% of what I was told was bullshit. So basically what I'm wondering is if there is in fact a benefit to upgrading a 98 pcm to a 02, and if so how could I confirm this has been done.

SOme will say no but I have a 98 that I upgraded to a 2002 pcm and I LOVE it. Trans WOT shifting issues gone, WOT fueling issues gone.
Now if you have a stock car the 98 pcm is fine, if you have a cam and others the 2002 makes it much easier to tune and enjoy.
