Header Pain. WHY?!

Header Pain. WHY?!
Can someone please shed some light on why my F***** 375$ Pace Setter Headers are Hitting my Steering shaft?!? Never herd of this happening to anyone else. I had to grind the living S*** out of the shaft to make it driveable. I paid good money for these headers. I would expect them to be designed properly. Anyone have an idea of what in the hell is going on?!? Is this really just a characteristic of these headers?
Its a 95 pontiac trans am, LT1, 6 speed.

When i did my pacesetters on my 94 camaro i had to cut off the steel cup looking thing down near the rag joint.
Id say if your motor mounts are old and saggy thats a good possibility of why its being a pain.

I had to move my steering shaft for my pacesetters back in '08. They even rattled against the heat shield on the floorpan o the passengers side That's why I just went with the ebays this time. However I think a lot depends on if a car was wrecked and motor mounts. Every header is prone to fitment issues.

I think I remember sliding my steering shaft to fit my LT Pacesetters...other than that, they went on rather smoothly. Did you buy them new?
I agree, $375 is cheap for set. If you wanted the best you would have paid double or triple. As I've learned so many times in life, cheaper is not always the best solution.

I had to drop my K-member for my Hooker/Jet Hot LTs.
Remember, your K-member is installed in slotted holes, and your motor mounts bolt to it, and they can be worn.
There is a great deal of variability there. My friend's T/A we hardly had any problems. Mine, we had to drop the K-member.
