Default Autozone parts......

Ya.......sorry to those who said autozone sucked, I should have listened, but the call of convenience was too much to say no to.
The hub that I replaced in my LF wheel with an autozone hub about 3k miles ago is now bad.....real bad actually, lots of play in the wheel, so now I have to pull it back out this weekend and get another cheap autozone hub for free and relpace it.

Autozone is really no different than any other part store...Advance, NAPA, O'Reily, Advantage etc. At most part stores they have 2 different options for wheel hubs. One is cheaper and the other is more expensive. From my experience, NEVER buy the cheaper option (I don't know if that's the case with you but just sharing my .02 cents). I have seen a ton of "cheap" hubs go bad within months. My shop will never order another cheap hub unless specifically requested by the customer. Also, make sure you don't over torque or under torque the hub as that could affect the longevity.

Lift the car, shake the wheel side to side, you can tell if its a hub and not a bad tierod by shaking the wheel from any direction, whereas a tierod you shake just left to right. The wheel isnt supposed to move at all when you shake it, if it does, that is "play" and it means something is bad

If you have left to right play only and no up/down or diagonally, then its a bad inner or outer tierod, only up/down play means balljoint and play no matter what way you shake it is a bad hub

Good idea or you could get stuck in a vicious cycle of installing new wheel hubs every couple months lol. It really is ridiculous how many cheap wheel hubs I've seen go bad. But they keep on selling them At least they're warrantied I guess.

Timken is the preferred choice. Stick with that and you will be fine.

ya the Timken literally went up $30 from $120 to $150 something within a day, AND all autozones do not carry it, so it looks like im stuck with another crappy hub

unless I decide to spend the $$ on a premium hub with a lifetime warranty from napa

I have a Timken hub sitting in my office from Autozone, so I don't agree with whoever told you that they don't carry that brand. They are WRONG. Talk to a manager or something, or someone from the commercial department. A lot of the times the jokers who work the front desk/floor don't know jack **** about what they're trying to order.

Or try calling around...do you have an Advance or O'Reily store near you?

went with a carquest premium hub for around $140, one year warranty, installed today, dropped my trans pan too and swapped out the filter

and I didnt mean that they dont carry it, they didnt stock it at any of the 8 stores within a 30 mile radius, so I was screwed, and get this, the price of the Timken was $122 and some change on thursday, on friday the Timkens were $158 and some change
