Default MWC 9" narrowed or stock length?

Im getting ready to place an order for a MWC fab 9 but I really don't know if I should get it narrowed or not.

It's pretty much a street car and at the moment, I am running stock 17x9 ws6 wheels. I plan to have a separate set of track wheels/tires for the handful of times I may go to the track a year.

Would it make any sense to narrow the rear and run spacers with my stock wheels, or just stick with the stock length and buy track wheels accordingly?

Spacers are never recommended to be used on anything. Now with that being said sure there is some advantages to narrowing the rear end. You get the look that everyone likes and if you are into drag racing it takes weight and rotating mass off the rear end as well. Granted your average person would not care or show any kind of gains from doing this so it will definitely be more about the looks.

The down fall though is limiting yourself to wheel selection. There are more selections of used wheels on the market than narrowed wheels. I know working with a budget myself I hate to limit my options for change.

i dont know if i would trust a spacer that big....even those bolt on ones.

be prepared to spend the extra $$$$ for rims & tires....

mine is narrowed 3" per side.....i forget the off set on the wheel, but i love the way the deeper rim & wider tire looks.

my nephew got his stock length & when we parked next to each other....he always says i wish i got mine narrowed.

if you have the extra cash i would do it.

good luck!

What if I did something subtle like 1" on each side? Can I still run the stock wheels or would they be in too far?

You have two choices to do it right. Narrow it, buy wheels. Don't narrow it, stock wheels.

Like mentioned, you narrow the housing based off the wheels you are running. MWC does not recommend the use of any spacers.

Ok thanks for the info guys. I didn't realize that spacers weren't recommended. I think ill just stick to stock length then since I wont be buying new wheels for a while.
