Cracked water jacket and #7 cylinder wall...
So to make a long story short, two weeks ago I was WOT and thought I popped a head gasket, white smoke, coolant smell and all. Fast forward to last night, my brother and I were taking off the driver side head and see that the gasket is in perfect condition but the water jacket directly next to the #7 cylinder is cracked, enough to fit a dime into and there is also a crack the length of the cylinder wall in that same cylinder.
My question is this:
Is it possible to fix?
If not, what is my next best option? Another stock LS1 re-manned replacement? What about a LQ9?
Please guys, any advice would help. I'm looking at a $3,000-$4,000 budget or trade my 1950 Crysler Royal C48 for a good, running, low mileage LS1 and I have about a month or so to get it done.
Thank you
