Okay so my new Camaro ran like ass when I got it. I uploaded a tune on HP tuners to it, and changed the plugs, and fixed a vacuum leak, and the car ran fantastic! Idle was good, put it in gear and it was good, no stumbles or anything, just ran awesome! It sounded killer too for the baby cam it has! So my dad wanted my lid that came with the car, so I went ahead and traded him my lid, and air cleaner assembly for his k&n fpik setup and I traded him my stock MAF that still even had the screen in it, for his LG motorsports MAF. I first put it on and it idled way high, Which I thought was strange. So I backed the idle screw off and did the whole reset the TPS and IAC with the key and all that jazz. and no matter what I do with the throttle screw I can't get it to run like it did! I put it at 2% throttle and reset it from there and it idles good in park at that. Then when you put it in gear the load value goes up to 3.9% and when you give it gas it goes up, but won't drop down below 4.9% load for about 10 seconds and I don't get it /:

anybody have ideas???

Put the stock maf back on, anytime you use a different maf the maf transfer will need to be rescaled. Oh and I'd never recommend uploading someeone elses unknown tune.

Well the tune I loaded was a tune that the prior owner I guess "had professionally done" and it seemed to work very nicely. The MAF needs to be rescaled?? Is that a process similar to the whole idle adjustment plug, unplug, key on, key off, plug, start?? I tried plugging the stock MAF back in, with the k&n fpik still in place and it still didn't run quite right, but that very well could have been because the throttle screw was all out of wack from me trying to make the LG MAF work. Would a change of just a MAF and going from the airbox/lid to a more open k&n style intake really throw the tune off that far??

Anytime you disrupt the airflow entering the MAF you will need to get it readjusted. With an aftermarket air filter you have changed the airflow into the maf, changing the air filter style could throw it off. Especiallly if there is less distance for the air to straighten out before the maf.

Okay I can believe all of that. But anything thing, when it's idling high like that, if you stand behind the car and listen to the exhaust, it totally sounds like there is no cam in the car. It literally looses all of the "cam sound" even when it comes down to 850-900 rpm. Tomorrow I am going to change the MAF back to stock, and put the idle screw back in the 2% spot and see what that does for it. I talked to Tom Wong about it a little bit and he said the big maf really won't do anything for the performance anyways. I'm going to see if I can get away with leaving the k&n on it with the stock maf and hopefully I can make that work!
