Has anyone thought or done this, chain the front of the motor down to the cradle for less movement on the motor and trans?I know there the shorter dog bone and poly mounts, just thinking of doing a cheap mod...

The car would then turn into a rattle trap.

I run a torque strap on my GN for that reason. It keeps the motor place and the car is definitely NOT a rattle trap.

I say give it a shot and let us know how it works!

it would look better than a chain steering wheel. when using shorter mounts or a rigid mount does it put stress on tranny or anything like that?

Well I might do it just have to find a spot on the block and cradle. IMO I thing it would a good and cheap mod,to get the torque to the wheels and not loose it when the block moves.

I'm not worried about the rattle as the poly mounts produce some vibration, when I put the trans in my front lower motor mount was tore up.So I came up this idea,to get the power to the wheels. :cheers :

With strap, it's pretty inconspicuous.

You gotta look twice to see it attached to the bolt loop on the alternator!
