how often do you guys change your clutch fluid?

I check pretty regularly. I would say twice a month. I use the ranger method with the syringe. If it's discolored or dirty I'll flush it out. I race every week so I usually end up changing it every other. I use DOT 5.1 synthetic. I buy mine from a motorcycle dealership. I forget the brand but it's pretty expensive at $16 per pint.

You have to be careful using synthetic fluids in these hydraulic systems. We use DOT 4 Non Synthetic here at the shop, works well for us.
I recommend at least twice a month. On my personal car I pop the hood when I fill up and look at the fluid... I beat the living crap out of my daily though, got to keep my clutches in line.

you guys really change it that often? i just checked mine and it was a golden brownish color.....how bad is that? its been a good 15000 on that fluid. The fluid was a foggy color when it was first put in....the tranny is definitaly the part of the drivetrain that has it the easiest.....i really dont push the clutch in/out that quick at all, and dont rreally shift hard. i wonder how often gm suggests in the warranty part of our manuals? anyway will basically any dot3/4 get the job done

I'll be looking for this stuff next, where do you get it from? The pedal feel in my car compared to what I remember it was in my old '97 Z28 M6 is much softer and gets softer over time. I dunno if different fluid will help but with uncoated LT's I imagine the fluid handles a lot of heat.

Unless you're heavily racing your car I see no reason to change it that often. Every oil change? Twice a month? Come on guys.....
I have had mine in for about a year and a half and have about 15-20 passes and it's still clean and everything is working properly. Changing it reguarly won't hurt anything but it seems a little excessive. I have worked on cars that are 5-8 years old and the fluid is still good, I usually recommend a flush(a lot of people never consider clutch fluid when thinking of maintanence) but for the most part it's alright. And this is coming from someone who has access to a pressure bleeder that once it's set up takes, no lie, about 7 seconds to bleed the system.
